Architectural Services
Steps Involved in Developing a Project
The following are the steps involved in the development
of a contract process when a client requests an architectural design.
1. A potential client meets for the initial consultation
of the project.
2. The client will then receive a contract for professional
design services.
3. The architects will then begin to develop the parameters
for the purposed design. This step includes Project Programming and the
development of Schematic Design.
4. Upon completion of the Schematic design process the architect
then will move the design to a next level which consists of the development of
primary architectural documents along with the development of consulting
engineering.
5. The Contract document phase represents the development
of the complete design package which is used to receive all permits and to
construct the project
6. Upon the completion of the contract document phase;
final drawings are turned over to the owner for competitive bidding and permits
submission.
7. During the construction administration phase the
architect serves as a representative of the owner to ensure the project is
constructed in complete accordance to the contract documents.
